4 Ways to Recover From the 4th

The 4th of July is the day we celebrate our independence with BBQs and brewskies. Some of us may have celebrated in excess, especially for a Wednesday. Now that we are all regretting our daytime activities of yesterday while sitting at work today, OTB offers some suggestions to get you through it.

Hair of the dog! Independence Day is one of the top five drinking holidays in the United States. So, needless to say, yesterday many of you may have had a little tee many martoonies. Grab a cocktail to put the balance back into your equilibrium! On the Border offers many great Happy Hours and today is Deer and a Beer Thursday- a domestic draft paired with a shot of Cazadores Reposado for only $6! This combination is a cheap and quick fix to that foggy head of yours.

Eat greasy food. You now need some greasy food in your belly to get you through the rest of your workday. The grease will coat your stomach and help to slow the absorption of alcohol. Though this remedy is best used prior to a night of drinking, a greasy meal paired with an alcoholic beverage will have the same effect for your existing hangover. I suggest OTB’s Classic Chimichanga. Hand rolled, filled with your choice of beef, chicken, or pork, and fried to a golden brown, this meal is sure to leave your stomach and palate satisfied.

Treat that sunburn. Though a lot of San Diego was overcast yesterday, that didn’t stop the sun from doing its job. Because the sun was not completely exposed, many of you may have skimped on the sunscreen and are now suffering the results. The sooner you treat your burn, then better. Aloe Vera is the best way to sooth your skin, but any moisturizer will help you heal. Keep moisturized and stay out of the sun. When visiting us at OTB, it might be best to skip the patio seating and eat inside today.

Drink a lot of water. Water is always FREE at OTB! Don’t be afraid to ask your server for constant refills. This will not only help your dehydration as a result of your extra alcohol consumption from the day before, but it is also beneficial for an existing sunburn. Any type of burn reduces moisture from your body so it is extremely important to keep hydrated- especially if you are hungover AND sunburned!
